“There is no description, no image in any book that is capable of replacing the sight of real trees, and all the life to be found around them, in a real forest.”

- Maria Montessori

Let me introduce myself, my name is Jenny Eastman, and I am the thumbs and thoughts behind Raising Maine.

I started Raising Maine in part to keep my teaching skills sharp and to continue to be a resource for parents in my community.

I want to share with you personal and parenting stories, Maine’s hidden gems, my favorite products, and of course, my favorite family-friendly spots here in Maine.

It is also my intention that Raising Maine is a place to share what being a parent/family in Maine is really like for Mainers today. To broaden our understanding of our neighbors' hardships, successes, and hopes of those who call Maine home.

My hope for Raising Maine is that we can use this space to learn, grow and laugh at ourselves.

Thank you so much for coming by!
